Official I-Survival Rules

BACKGROUND:

This document is intended to update players on the revisions being made to the I-Survival Rules. Additionally, to act as a transparency document outlining the details and punishments of each rule.

Please note that all rules are subject to amendments at any time, so it is advised to check this document frequently for changes.

A major thanks to QuartzKing and the Official I-Factions Rules for inspiration and many sections of this Official I-Survival Rules document.

Griefing

1. (1) Whoever knowingly sets fire to, damages, destroys, disables or places a destructive device in, upon, or near, any structure, property, machine, or apparatus owned by another player without explicit consent.

Punishment

1. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (1.1) is subject to—

(a) a warning upon first offense (if minor damage).

(b) a temporary ban for a period no longer than 24 hours.

 

Disrespecting Players

2. (1) Whoever knowingly communicates, conveys, or displays anything which a player may find disrespectful in a way that—

(a) is directly disrespectful to the player, including hate speech, racial or homophobic slurs, slights referring to mental or physical ailment; or

(b) is vaguely, but suggestively disrespectful to the player including all manners in the previous line.

Punishment

2. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (2.1) is subject to—

(a) a kick or warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

 

Disrespect or Undermining Staff, or Not Following a Staff Member’s Instructions

3. (1) Whoever knowingly communicates, conveys, or displays anything which a staff member may find—

(a) directly disrespectful, including hate speech, racial or homophobic slurs, slights referring to mental or physical ailment;

(b) vaguely, but suggestively disrespectful including all manners in the previous line; or

(c) disjointed with the staff member’s instruction to the involved party. (i.e. directly disobeying a staff member’s order/request under the enforcement of these rules)

Punishment

3. (2) Whoever commits an offense under (3.1) is subject to—

(a) a kick or warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

 

Fraud

4. (1) Whoever is found to be knowingly misleading or deceiving someone into thinking something which the perpetrator knows to be false in order to gain an item of value.

Punishment

4. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (4.1) is subject to–

(a) a warning and the removal of said item(s); or upon second offense,

(b) the removal of said item(s) and a temporary ban for a period no longer than 48 hours.

4. (3) Prior to punishment, there must be sufficient evidence or reason to assume that the accused had the intent of fraudulence. If the item scammed cannot be retrieved due to perpetrator denial or refusal to give it up, then punishment (b) is necessary.

 

Illegal Mods or Hacked Clients

5. (1) Whoever is found to be using an illegal mod or hacked client, that is, any mod or hacked client not found in the legal list found in paragraph (3) of this section.

Punishment

5. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (5.1) is subject to—

(a) an immediate jailing and warning; or

(b) an immediate temporary or permanent ban.

5. (3) If the player committing the offense is using a mod that does not affect gameplay in a way that is extremely game breaking, but still illegal, then they are to be punished under punishment (a) aforementioned – subject to the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

If the player committing the offense is using a mod or hacked client that affects gameplay in a way that is extremely game breaking, or if they have already committed an offense under this section in the past, then they are to be punished under punishment (b) aforementioned.

Staff who see a player committing an offense under this section, but do not have the proper jurisdiction to deal with it, must immediately report the offender to a higher-ranking staff member.

Legal Mods List

X-Ray Mods or Texture/Resource Packs

6. (1) Whoever is found to be using an X-Ray mod, or X-Ray Texture/Resource pack for any reason.

Punishment

6. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (6) is subject to–

(a) an immediate jailing and warning; or

(b) an immediate permanent ban.

6. (3) Players are punished under the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule. This is a low tolerance issue, meaning that you can only be given up to one warning under this offense, after which if it is repeated, you will receive a permanent ban.

Higher staff are very vigilant on this issue and often perform random checks on all players to ensure no one is violating this offense.

Staff who see or suspect a player committing an offense under this section, but do not have the proper jurisdiction to deal with it, must immediately report the offender to a higher-ranking staff member.

 

Spamming or Profanities

7. (1) Whoever is found in chat to be-

(a) repeating an identical, or closely similar message or symbols more than twice, consecutively or close together chronologically; or

(b) filling the chat with insignificant or unimportant words or symbols; or

(c) sending a message that includes a word considered vulgar, swearing, or strongly offensive, as per the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

Punishment

7. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (7.1) is subject to-

(a) a kick or warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

7. (3) This section does not apply to racial, sexist, or homophobic slurs or any other highly offensive slander, or anything else covered in sections (2), (3), or (8).

7. (4) This section applies to anywhere on the server, including global chat, local chat, private message, or whisper.

 

Racial Slurs, Homophobic Slurs, Sexism, Insults About Mental Illness or Any Other Terms Considered Highly Offensive

8. (1) Whoever uses any term considered to be racist, homophobic, sexist, insulting towards individuals with mental disabilities or any other slur or terminology considered highly offensive to any person or collective group of persons; especially when directed thereat.

Punishment

8. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (8.1) is subject to-

(a) a kick or warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

8. (3) Any staff who see a player use these words should act as fast as possible, and immediately following punishment, they should clear the chat to remove the word by using /cc.

 

Advertising

9. (1) Whoever, in any manner, knowingly communicates, conveys, or displays any link, address, or name of another server, or its website.

Punishment

9. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (9.1) is subject to–

(a) a permanent ban, or mute until a staff with jurisdiction to ban is notified and available; or,

(b) a warning and a mute no longer than 24 hours.

9. (3) If the player committing the offense is a new player who joined within one week of committing the offense, then they are to be punished under punishment (a) aforementioned;

If the player committing the offense is a player who joined more than one week before committing the offense, then they are to be punished under punishment (b) aforementioned; or,

If the player committing the offense is a player who joined more than one week before committing the offense, and this is their second offense under this section, then they are to be punished under punishment (a) aforementioned.

Section 9. applies to anywhere on the server, including global chat, local chat, private message, or whisper.

 

Theft

10. (1) Whoever is found to be taking another person’s property or item without that person’s explicit consent.

Punishment

10. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (10.1) is subject to–

(a) a warning and the removal of said item(s); or upon a second offense,

(b) the removal of said item(s) and a temporary ban for a period no longer than 24 hours; or upon further offenses,

(c) a permanent ban.

10. (3) Punishment can fluctuate between the three depending on severity of the theft, being at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

 

Abusing Glitches or Unintended Features in Plugins, or Loopholes in Shop

11. (1) Whoever is found to be abusing glitches or loopholes in—

(a) Minecraft itself, including any duplication bugs or any other game bugs that give you an advantage over other players;

(b) any plugins on the server; or

(c) the shop or any other server institutions that involve money or items.

Punishment

11. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (11.1) is subject to—

(a) an immediate permanent ban; or

(b) an immediate temporary ban not exceeding 7 days if the offense is minor.

11. (3) If a player alerts any staff about a glitch or issue covered under this section without first abusing it a large amount, then that player is entitled to reward and punishment will be void.

Plugin features seen as unintentional or revised as “OP” will be considered under this section.

Because this is considered a serious offense if convicted, any staff should immediately notify a senior staff member if they witness a user violating this section. Moderators or lower should immediately jail any suspected offender and let senior staff know immediately.

 

Inappropriately Named Items

12. (1) Whoever is found to be in possession of an item which totes an inappropriate name violating sections (2), (3), (5), or (8).

Punishment

12. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (12.1) is subject to—

(a) a warning and a request or force to rename the item in question; or

(b) an immediate permanent ban, or a temporary ban not exceeding 7 days upon multiple offenses or refusal to act under paragraph (12.2)(a)

 

Defamatory Libel

13. (1) Whoever—

(a) is responsible for any matter issued, without legitimate justification or excuse, that is likely to injure the reputation of any person by exposing them to hatred, contempt, or ridicule, or that is designed to insult the person of or concerning whom it is published; or

(b) by communicating statements in any public place, incites hatred against any identifiable group where such incitement is likely to lead to a breach of the peace.

Punishment

13. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (13.1) is subject to—

(a) a kick or warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff dealing with the situation.

13. (3) This rule is intended for use in situations where the reputation of an individual on the server is threatened by manufactured fallacies. If the statements in question are made in truth, then this rule is not to apply; however, the statements must be proven to be true beyond a reasonable doubt.

 

Use of /nick or Any Other Means to Impersonate, or Act as Another Player

14. (1) Whoever, with the intent to mislead or impersonate another, changes their display name to that of any other player, for any reason and regardless of whether consent was given

(a) impersonates any player, with no intent to cause trouble;

(b) impersonates any player, with the intent to cause trouble or impersonate that player with conduct which that player would not normally orchestrate;

(c) impersonates any staff member, with no intent to cause trouble; or

(d) impersonates any staff member, with the intent to cause trouble or impersonate that staff member in attempt to utilize their capacity to authorize or enforce server rules to enact any conduct or impression upon any other players knowing that the statement is false under said rules.

Punishment

14. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (14.1) is subject to–

(a) a kick and warning upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) the removal of the permission to set one’s own nickname, or by temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

Everyone who commits an offense under paragraph (14.1 [b or d]) is guilty of an offense punishable by the removal of the permission to set one’s own nickname, or by temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

 

PvP Outside of Designated Arenas

15. (1) Whoever is found to be engaging in combat outside of specified PvP arenas that is directed at–

(a) unaware, non-willing participant(s) with malicious intent.

(b) willing participant(s) without malicious intent.

Punishment

15. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (15.1) is subject to–

(a) a warning and a kick upon first offense; or upon second offense,

(b) a jailing for a period no longer than 20 minutes; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary ban for a period no longer than 24 hours.

15. (3) If it is abundantly clear that the perpetrator or perpetrators are not engaging in combat with malicious intent, then punishment will begin at punishment (a). If it clear that the perpetrator has malicious intent, then start at punishment (b).

 

Absurd or Highly Overpriced Auction Prices

16. (1) Whoever knowingly posts an item or items for sale on the auction house that is deemed highly overpriced for that item or set of items.

Punishment

16. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (16.1) is subject to–

(a) a staff asking the player to remove the item or items; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) the loss of the item or items; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff enforcing the rule.

 

AFKing at Spawner(s)

17. (1) Whoever is found to be loitering at spawner(s) for an extended amount of time, without any explicit purpose other than to activate the mob spawning.

Punishment

17. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (17.1) is subject to–

(a) a warning and a kick (or teleportation to spawn) upon first or second offense; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a temporary ban for a period no longer than 24 hours.

 

Lag Machines or Other Acts Intended to Slow or Harm the Server

18. (1) Whoever willfully creates any device or series of devices, or any other physical, virtual or other media of which the intent of use is to slow, crash or affect the server in any way that is not routine, or any way that ails the server to any affect.

Punishment

18. (2) Whoever commits an offense under paragraph (18.1) is subject to–

(a) a kick and warning upon first or second offense, along with destruction or cessation of all devices; or upon multiple offenses,

(b) a mute for a period no longer than twenty minutes, along with the destruction or cessation of all devices; or upon further offenses,

(c) a temporary or permanent ban, along with the destruction or cessation of all devices, a decision which will be at the discretion of the staff dealing with the situation.

18. (3) Any staff who see a player committing an offense under section 12. should immediately act, and if required, contact a higher staff member with full jurisdiction.

 

Parties to Offense

19. (1) Everyone is a party to an offense who–

(a) actually commits it;

(b) does or omits to do anything for the purpose of aiding any person to commit it; or

(c) abets any person in committing it.

Common intention

19. (2) Where two or more persons form an intention in common to carry out an unlawful purpose and to assist each other therein and any one of them, in carrying out the common purpose, commits an offense, each of them who knew or ought to have known that the commission of the offense would be a probable consequence of carrying out the common purpose is a party to that offense.

19. (3) Under this legislation, all individuals found to be a party to an offense under this document are to receive the exact same punishment of the person who originally committed the offense.
